TPG 010 | Minister Rohan K. Samuels on Getting Your Vision Back, The Effects of Environment on Identity, How the Church Can Reach The Next Generation

On today's episode, Jimmy has a conversation with Minister Rohan Samuels...

In 2009, Rohan Samuels had identified his calling but there were internal obstacles. Rohan discusses his struggles with school, insecurities, and how he overcame them.

We discuss how Rohan hid his insecurities in sports and music however, God challenged him to step outside of his comfort zone and become a preacher.

During his education, Rohan learned how to draw context from the scripture and take complex abstract topics and communicate it to the ordinary person. He believes that scripture can speak to our situations in the 21st century in our community and society.

Minister Rohan Samuels discusses why the church can seem so divided and how the status of the church has an effect on culture. He talks about “Kingdom Establishments“ vs “Churches” and how we should be Kingdom members not just church members.

“Culture doesn’t need another church, it needs another Kingdom citizen” - Minister Rohan Samuels.

Rohan’s vision is to disciple the next generation of Christians and empower people to be passionate about God.

We discuss the Preacher’s sermon “I Got My Vision Back” and we dive deep into his understanding about having a vision, the effects on environment, and identities.

Rohan speaks about the 3 Hebrew boys Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from chapter 3 of the Book of Daniel.

How do we gain prosperity?
We gain prosperity by being faithful to Jesus Christ and the Gospel.

Prosperity can be gained through faithfulness and obedience. (Deuteronomy 28:12-14)

Long life, honor, material and spiritual prosperity are all results of wisdom that comes from fearing the Lord and living righteously. (Proverbs 1:7; 3:13-16; 8:12-20)

Hard work is also given as a prerequisite of material prosperity, while both laziness and oppression are causes of poverty. (Proverbs 10:4; 12:27; 20:13)

TPG 004 | Turn Worry into Worship: How Gratitude Conquers Fear

Today Jimmy talks about...

What is Worry?
What is Worship?

Worry definition: Give way to anxiety or unease; allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles

The word 'Latreuo' is translated into worship 21 times in the New Testament.
Latreuo in Greek means to serve

Serving is a way to over worry. When we serve others it removes the focus on ourselves and places it on others and creating solutions.

Our purpose is to serve God by helping others. In order to help others we have to be confident in ourselves.

Confidence starts with gratitude.

Ways You Can Deal with Worry and Conquer Fear
1. God gives strength - ask through prayer, achieve through worship
2. Build gratitude into your day - list out the things you are thankful for
3. Learn how to serve others

Bible Verse:
2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline."

TPG 002 | Partnering with God: Building A Better Tomorrow

On today's episode Jimmy talks about...

The Kingdom of God.
Partnering with God through prayer, giving, and serving.

What is the Kingdom of God?
Jesus Christ preached a lot about the Kingdom of God.

He often told his disciples and followers that they should "repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand"(paraphrased) - Mark 1:14-15 (NKJV)

Many people believe the word repent means to stop sinning. However, the word repent in the Greek is 'metanoia' which means to change one's mind or make a decision to turn around and face a new direction.

I believe Jesus was challenging us to change how we think of the Kingdom of God (Heaven) and realize that we can experience the Kingdom of God here on earth.

As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. For God says,

“At just the right time, I heard you.
On the day of salvation, I helped you.”

Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.
